Richmond’s greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030
In response to the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) recent report on limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, the City has set the target of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Richmond by 50% by 2030.
The city will be updating the Community Energy and Emissions Plan, and ensure that Richmond continues to be a liveable, healthy and safe community. Here is a general description of each activity available to City of Richmond.
Policy & Regulation, Incentives, Advocacy, Outreach & Capacity Building , Collaboration & Partnerships, Infrastructure
The each activity will be apply to the Existing Buildings, New Buildings, Green Infrastructure, Transportation – Walk/Roll/Cycle , Electric Vehicles, Waste Management and Circular Economy
